About the Department of Curriculum & Teaching

The Department of Curriculum and Teaching offers a broad range of academic undergraduate and graduate programs in teacher education to prepare students for initial licensure and/or for advanced licensure endorsements. The department is committed to producing teachers who foster high academic achievement in all students, including learners with diverse racial, cultural, linguistic, socioeconomic backgrounds and abilities.

Mission Statement

The Department of Curriculum and Teaching is a community committed to exploring and critically examining socio-historical, political, and cultural foundations of curriculum and instructional practices with the intent of reimagining and transforming education in local and global contexts. In our teaching and learning, research, and service, we enact our commitment through:
