The Department of Curriculum and Teaching is a community committed to exploring and critically examining socio-historical, political, and cultural foundations of curriculum and instructional practices with the intent of reimagining and transforming education in local and global contexts. In our teaching and learning, research, and service, we enact our commitment through:
- Valuing diversity to ensure that students, faculty and staff feel welcome, safe, and affirmed;
- Practicing equity, inclusion, and social justice;
- Preparing knowledgeable, reflective, and caring educators and scholars; and
- Developing ourselves as well as the individuals and groups with whom we collaborate to make informed decisions regarding curriculum, practices, and policies.
